The Seaward Group is made up of four individual companies that specialise in different aspects of electrical safety testing. Each is dedicated to providing technologically advanced solutions to the highest possible standards within highly specific markets.

When Seaward approached us they had a number of individual website that represented the groups companies. After the consultancy and planning stages it was decided that a group site would be developed that incorporated the individual companies and projected a strong brand image across all the sites. We also introduced the latest search engine optimisation techniques that included a semantic page naming system that allows management of meta information and page naming in a multilingual format to allow submission to international and local country versions of search engines.

The sites were developed with many features to allow users to carry out services that were traditionally carried out over the phone or by email. This intern allowed more time for staff to concentrate on generating business and helped reduce overheads and costs within the business. The site allows user to access a wealth of technical support in the knowledge base and forums and has helped to reduce incoming call to the helpdesk. There a number of ways throughout the site to contact the Seaward Group, be it specific sales enquires from the extensive online product range to general online sales enquires. All information is channelled direct from the site into the GoldMine CRM system that is used by the Seaward Group to handle customer information. Other features include the ability to register products online and authorise the latest version of your Seaward software.

Administrative Access

The management of all the sites is carried out through one content management system. The system was design to allow simple maintenance for non-technical staff. The overall Administrator has access and right to all site within the group site and can set permission rights for key-user to access individual sites or areas within the sites that they have responsibility for.

Due to the bespoke nature of the content management system new modules are constantly being added to the site and integrated quickly and easily in to the current content management system.

Recent developments

After the launch of the site and the exceptional positive feedback from the industry and clients alike, Seaward took further steps this year to enhance the users experience when visiting the site by introducing some of the latest Web 2.0 features throughout the group’s websites and again have had very positive feedback from users. Future developments

The sites are constantly evolving with the latest online features that both help users and Seaward. Future plans are to include an Extranet for the groups national and international distributors, that allows confidential sales and promotion information to be displayed and product ordering through the distributor account. Plans have also been discussed to include the sale of software through out the site this will help reduce cost in post and packaging as the software will be downloaded and authorised directly through the site.
